Varazdin feudal fortress, from ancient times called Old Town, is the most important historic building Varazdin. The present fort was built from 14th to 19th century .The oldest part is the central tower. In the time of the war with the Turks was rebuilt in the Renaissance Wasserburg. Alterations was performed by the Italian builders from the vicinity of Coma. Over the past was owned by many important noble familys. In 1925. it became the property of the city of Varazdin.
